How I became a Vacation Photographer in San Juan, Puerto Rico

My story goes back to my early pre-teen years. At a yard sale in my neighborhood, I got my first an old camera. It was a life-changing moment. I didn't have money to purchase film or to have it developed. I took that camera everywhere, snapping photos, and filing the images away in my head. At 14, I started doing odd jobs for people, and the first thing I bought with the money, was a roll of film. I have been a shutterbug ever since.

In 2014 I started thinking about what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I was a Campus Director for a large university, but I wanted to be a professional photographer. I started taking online classes to improve my craft. I built my first website, and I was up and running. The problem was I didn't have any clients. I decided to ask a friend who worked with me if I could shoot a fake wedding with her and a friend. To my amazement, she said yes! The photo you see here is one of the images from that fake wedding photoshoot. It worked!! I started getting jobs. I found work on three different photography sites as a professional photographer. I quit my job two years later, and photography is now my profession.

2020 brought many changes to my life. My wife and I decided to move to Puerto Rico. Crazy times, as Covid was becoming widespread. Once we were here, I began building my business by doing every type of photography possible. I found an online site that was looking for vacation photographers on the island and I applied. They hired me and after the first couple of vacations photoshoots, I was hooked. I love it! I enjoy getting to know my clients in a relaxed environment while showing them around Old San Juan, the Metro Area and of course, the West side/Best side, of the island. There are so many great locations that finding the perfect location for your session won’t be difficult.

Come to Puerto Rico, book a photography session with me, have a great time and get some amazing photos.
